Opening Day Details 2023!!

By John Seed, 05/05/23, 11:00AM EDT

Good morning SEYAA friends and family. As we prepare ourselves for opening day tomorrow, the E-Board would like to send out some last minute announcements and reminders:

Parade - all players and coaches are to meet at Hazelwood Park on Brock Avenue at 8:30 to line up. Please have your child in their game uniform and hat. Sneakers are encouraged for the parade. We will leave the park at 9 and walk down to Clegg field with a police escort.

Ceremony - each team, manager and sponsor will be introduced as they walk onto the majors field from the first base side. Teams will line up along the back of the infield. The legendary Chops Turner will sing our national anthem. We will then have a word from our League President and introduction of elected officials in attendance who will all give a brief word of encouragement to all in attendance.

After the ceremony, teams will take pictures on the majors field according to the schedule provided to each coach. Please reach out to your coach for your time and picture order packet. Games will be played at 11, 1 and 3.

The E-Board has put a tremendous amount of time and effort into making our fields and surrounding property look amazing. We ask that you help us continue to do so by placing trash in trash barrels and plastics in the many red-top recycle bins throughout the complex.
We are all volunteers and ask that everyone do their part to help keep the grounds safe and beautiful for our kids.

As a reminder, there is no smoking or vaping on the property. Please use the sidewalks or go across the street. Also, NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED ON PROPERTY. Please adhere to these rules or you will be asked to leave.

Raffle ticket money and canteen signup duty is now due. Please coordinate with your coach to figure out your dates and buyout option. The raffle drawing will be May 15th.

Finally, please keep in my mind that this league is for our children. We are teaching them how to play this great game and more importantly, how to have fun. Please refrain from excessive yelling at your children and umpires. Let the coaches coach. We have put countless hours into our preparation and are looking forward to a great 2023 season. As always, if you have questions or concerns or want to find out how you can volunteer, please reach out to a board member.
